"Phin, we're here! This is Apple Hill!"
"Mommy, what'd you say?"
"We're at Apple Hill!"
"No! No, this isn't Apple Hill. No!"
"Uh, yeah, this is it." Crap. "This is Apple Hill!"
"No Mama! This, this, we not at Apple Hill!"
Poor kid was expecting a giant Apple Hill. James and the Giant Peach style, but bigger. And you know, an apple.
Vovo pacified him with a giant, but not hill sized, chocolate and caramel covered marshmallow on a stick. Yeah, we let him have that for less than a minute. And he rode a horse, a pony, which fufilled a Momma dream for me. Fun was had by all!
Gray slept most of the day but he ate when he was hungry and was cuddled by many loved ones. So I'm sure he had a pretty sweet day himself.
The whole weekend was pretty fabulous. Living the dream.

Aww poor Phin! His heart was broken!! Give him a BIG apple ;) seriously I love kids!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures!! You have the most beautiful family!
I agree that Autumn sounds classier than Fall. If only I will remember :)
Oh don't worry, dude STOLE like four. And every time we tried to go back and pay for them they would smile and give in to his big brown eyes. There was no lesson learned on his part. Next time I'm going to have the little guy arrested. ;)
DeleteNothing like a child's perspective on something! What a good looking family of four you are!
ReplyDeleteThank you! But you are so right, child's perspective is infinitely better. Although, it leads to a bigger let down in some very sad, fruit related cases.
DeleteHaha... cute. you look skinny! Cute boys!
ReplyDeleteThanks Audrey, total optical illusion though. I have employed the girdle technique many times this go around.
DeletePhin is looking so much like you! I love these photos! Very cute, mel! You've gotten really good :)
ReplyDeleteAhh, thanks T! I like to think Phin and I share a few of the same features. Gray has Jared written all over his chubby little face.
DeleteAw, how cute! Nevada rode a pony when we went too (probably the best part of the day for her). And you do look amazing!
ReplyDeleteHa! I'll have to tell Jared that you went because the entire time we sat in traffic he grumbled about how smart Mark was not to go, blah, blah. And yup, that pony was a big highlight for all involved. Well, except the pony. I don't think any special joy was had by him riding Phin around in a circle.
